Hi Ho-Hi Ho....off to the studio I go...

I am finally getting ready to get into the studio today! I have an idea for a new piece and I am anxious to start working on it. It's always a few days of contemplation when I have a new idea before I can actually work up the "courage" to get started...I know, it doesn't make any sense but it's the only way I can describe it! LOL I have to work out the possible kinks and "failures" in my head and then I just say "to heck with it" and jump in with both feet. (I really sort of belly flop in to it!) I always tell myself, above all, there is no such thing as a true failure in art because I can always paint over it, which will actually add another beautiful layer to it, making it another more unique beautiful piece of art! Anyone who dabbles in mixed media should start a new piece with gusto and confidence because of this very idea--"mistakes" will cover-up and the new layers will add more mystery and depth to your work! This also applies to life in many ways-especially being a parent. My kids don't want me to be perfect, just interesting...they want me to be fun and pay attention to their accomplishments and love them. I am learning to apply my art theories to my life as well. Anyhoo, I am through the doors and into Art Vandal Studio to play and think of more stuff...Ciao!
