The newest and latest member of my little band of "misfits" is adapting well! He seems to really have made himself right at home in my art studio. Potty training is progressing a bit more slowly so thank God for concrete floors! I have been inspired yet again by my design 1 teacher and I have started making handmade books. I love it and I still get to utilize all my art mediums. I recently put the "finishing" touches on a lotus fold book that will never actually be finished as it is a family tree book that I hope my kids keep adding to over time. I will post photos of it soon. My wonderful grandmother helped me get started on the names waaaaay back to my great-great-grandparents and then she couldn't remember anymore and she has a touch of the flu so I didn't want to tax her. It was fun and informative talking to her and my mother over dinner. We don't get to do that a whole lot anymore.
I am also working on an altered book for design 1 on the elements and principles of design and it has a decidedly "Alice-like" theme. I found a bunch of Alice stamps online and couldn't wait to use them and they just fit so well with this theme so it worked. I have decided that I will probably continue to make small handmade books for gifts or whatever. (I have also, just this very second, decided to remove the computer voice that announces the time every hour on the hour from my computer because every time this voice screams the time at me I almost pee my pants it scares me so bad. I have had it on for about a month and one would think I might have gotten used to it by now but...no... it just keeps gettin' me every damn time! LOL So, away it goes. Now. That's better.)
I just registered this blog with FB Networked Blogs so I hope it generates some followers and I can start showing some "how-tos" on here. Right now I am up to my eyeballs in photo projects for class and art projects for design so I am off to bed! Goodnight, All. Hugs from me and "Marbles the studio dog".
