Encaustic Collages

I started doing encaustic work about 3-4 months ago and at first it was just something new to try and then I incorporated it into my photography portfolio and semester project. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this process. I use only straight, organic beeswax---you can also mix it with a resin but that is toxic and you need a well ventilated studio to work in. My studio is in my house and I share the air with two birds, three dogs, and my kids and I cannot see taking that chance. I really like the vintagy feel that the naturally yellow beeswax gives all of my collages and it doesn't ruin my inkjet prints. Will be taking photos of new work and posting them after finals. Some of them will be displayed at my college so I think that's pretty amazing!
