Art work...

There is this local art show that i have always wanted to be a part of. I have dreamed of having work in it for as long as I have lived here. It's a juried show, though and I just never seem to have the money to submit my work and then you have to be invited and I haven't been in any of the juried shows to be seen and BE invited. I know other people who have been in it for years and years and it always seems to be more about who you know in the local art community than the "wow" factor behind the work. I get really frustrated and disappointed because everyone who sees my work (strangers OR friends) comments how wonderful it is and how talented they think I am. I have actually sold some of my work so maybe I just have no idea how to market my own stuff. Maybe I have no idea how to get it out there and make my dream happen. Any suggestions? Anyone? Hopefully I will be able to realize my dream and maybe make a living at what I love to do.
